Frequently-asked skip hire questions

We have a variety of skips available for hire in different sizes and with varying capacities. You can give us a call to discuss your requirements, or you can get an online quote by filling out the form on our website. If we are not able to meet your needs at that time, just let us know! We will be happy to provide more information about other options if need be – all inclusive price quotes include delivery and collection as well as professional waste recycling/disposal so it’s easy and convenient no matter what kind of disposal service is best suited for you right now.
A standard general waste skip hire is for a maximum of 7 days. If you have filled or finished with the skip earlier, then call us and we will arrange collection. But if you need to keep it longer, please give us a ring so that we can work out your specific requirements! A standard General Waste Skip Hire means up to seven (7) full working days – but if this isn’t enough time just get in touch and let’s see what else might be possible too!

You do not require a permit to place a skip in your private driveway, yard or garden. However if you are placing the bin on public roads then it is likely that you will need one and these can vary depending on what area of country you reside within. You may also be required to buy this from council offices which could take up time and money as well as delaying when work can commence with your rubbish removal project. We offer other solutions including wait & load skips where we go out at night for collection so there’s minimal loading times involved (e.g., 30 minutes-1 hour).

Your skip should not include any liquids, including paint and oils, or asbestos. Also too large items such as your fridge freezer can’t be put in a general mixed waste skip. If you have these hazardous materials for disposal then please advise during your phone call to us so we may offer an appropriate service that could accommodate the size of what you’re getting rid of!

If you don’t have a driveway and can’t get a road permit but still want a skip, smaller (up to 8 yard) “chain” skips can be placed in a garden. However, the skip lorry will need good access to lift the skip into place, so it really depends on your garden and the obstacles between it and the street, such as the height of hedges, fences, or boundary walls.

Larger roll-on roll-off container skips can not be placed in a garden since they are dropped rather than hauled into place. Please keep in mind that, because a skip is heavy, it will harm the grass beneath it.

If you want to put a skip in your garden, please contact us and talk to one of our representatives about it. If this is not possible, please choose one of our other garbage removal options:

Wait and load Skip hire is ideal if you have your garbage ready to go and can quickly load it into our skip at the roadside (e.g. 30 minutes-1 hour).

Our operator lifts your garbage and loads it onto a dump vehicle, which then transports it away (no skip).
